No Accessibility? Keep KeyUp on screen
Use crown talk without the Accessibility setting: KeyUp stays on the dimmed screen, so the crown still reaches it.
What it is
When the watch screen dims, KeyUp can stay on screen in a simple dark view instead of going back to your watch face. Raise your wrist or tap to wake it, and the first crown turn goes straight to KeyUp. No Accessibility setting needed.
When to use it
Use it if you don’t want to turn on KeyUp crown talk in Accessibility, or if your watch doesn’t offer it.
How to do it

Make sure crown talk is on: on the phone, go to You › Watch and turn on Twist the crown to talk. Your talk style must be Tap to talk.

On the watch, open KeyUp and swipe up for the controls. Under Screen, turn on Keep KeyUp on screen. It’s already on if you haven’t turned on Accessibility crown talk.

For KeyUp to stay in front longer, open your watch Settings › Display and look for Return to watch face. Set it to Never or the longest time you can. The name and choices can differ by watch and Wear OS version, and some watches don’t have it.

Let the screen dim. KeyUp shows a dark view with your room name and Turn the crown to talk.

Raise your wrist (or tap the screen) and turn the crown clockwise to talk. Turn it back to stop.
