Rewind and transcripts: your voice, your choice

Nothing you say is saved unless the room has it on and you said yes. You’re always heard live.

What it is

Rewind saves short voice clips so people can replay what was said. Transcripts turn what was said into text. Both are off in every room until a Space owner or admin turns them on, and even then your own voice is only saved if you agree.

When to use it

Read this when a room shows Rewind on, or KeyUp asks Save my voice for rewind?

How to do it

  1. Rooms that save clips show Rewind on, with a note saying if your voice is saved.

    Rewind on.

  2. The first time you’re in such a room, KeyUp asks once: Save my voice for rewind? Tap Yes or Not now. Either way, everyone still hears you live. Rooms with transcripts ask Transcribe my voice? the same way.

    Asked once, per room.

  3. Change your mind any time in You › Privacy: Save my voice for rewind and Transcribe my voice.

  4. For owners and admins: Room settings › Rewind turns it on or off. When you turn it off you can also Delete saved clips, and while it’s off, Delete saved clips removes every clip saved in the room.

  5. On the watch, swipe up and tap In this room to see Rewind on and answer the same question.
