Adults only (18+) Spaces

Mark a Space for adults only. People under 18 can’t join it or see it.

What it is

A Space’s owner or admins can mark it Adults only (18+). Members must be 18 or older. Owners and admins decide what’s allowed there, within the Terms. Its rooms follow the Space and show a small 18+ badge.

When to use it

Use it for a Space that’s meant for adults, like a workplace crew, a bar or a group for mature topics.

How to do it

  1. New Space: tap the Space name at the top of the Talk tab, then New Space. Turn on Adults only (18+) before you tap Create Space.

  2. A Space you already have: go to People › Manage › Space settings and turn on Adults only (18+). Only the owner and admins see the switch.

  3. If someone under 18 is in the Space, KeyUp says Remove the member under 18 first and shows who. Remove them from the Space, then turn the switch on. KeyUp never removes anyone for you.

  4. To invite people, use invitations or guest passes as usual. People under 18 can’t join, whatever the link. Guests tick I’m 18 or older before they join.
