Report or block someone

Block someone so they can’t call or message you, and report a person or a message so it gets looked at.

What it is

Blocking stops someone from calling or messaging you. Reporting tells the people who can act: the Space’s owners and admins, and the KeyUp team when it needs us. KeyUp attaches the evidence itself, so you don’t need screenshots.

When to use it

Use it when someone is harassing you, threatening anyone, sending spam or scams, pretending to be someone else, or breaking the Terms. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first.

How to do it

  1. Open the person: tap them in a room, in People, or in your friends list. Tap Report and their name. To report one message, press and hold it and tap Report message.

    Report from a person sheet.
  2. Pick what’s wrong: Harassment or bullying, Threats or violence, Hate, Sexual content, Child safety, Spam or scam, Illegal activity, Impersonation or Something else. Add a note if it helps.

    Pick a reason.
  3. Also block is on, so they can’t call or message you after you send it. Switch it off if you only want to report.

  4. In a Space, you can also switch on This may be illegal or dangerous: send to KeyUp too. Child safety, threats or violence and illegal activity always go to the KeyUp team as well.

  5. Tap Send report. You’ll see Thanks. We’ll look into it.

  6. To block without reporting, open the person and tap Block, then confirm. To unblock, open them again, or find them under Blocked on the People tab, and tap Unblock.
