Themes and colors

Pick Ember, Frosted or Bold, light or dark, and an accent color. Your watch follows your phone.

What it is

KeyUp comes in three themes. Ember (the default) is warm and dark, with a glow when someone talks. Frosted has see-through cards over soft color. Bold is high contrast, with big titles and strong edges, so it’s easy to read in sunlight. Every theme has the same screens and buttons in the same places. Only the look changes.

When to use it

Use it any time you want KeyUp to look different, or easier to read.

How to do it

On your phone, go to the You tab and scroll to Appearance.

You › Appearance.
Under Theme, tap Ember, Frosted or Bold. Each tile shows a small preview, and the line under it says what the theme is like.
Under Light or dark, pick System (follows your phone), Light or Dark.
Under Accent, tap a color: KeyUp red, Orange, Pink, Blue, Indigo, Teal or Forest. The accent colors the talk button and the talking ring.

That’s it. Your watch uses the same theme and accent, made for its round black screen.

Tips

Your choice is saved on this phone and kept when you sign out or switch accounts.
The watch is always dark, whatever you pick for Light or dark on the phone.
KeyUp checks that text on the accent is easy to read. If a color is too light or too dark for a theme, KeyUp uses a slightly lighter or darker shade of it.
Warning messages, the AI assistant and “online” keep their own colors in every theme, so they always mean the same thing.
Space color: on the Crew and Business plans, the Space owner can pick a color for the whole Space in People › Manage › Space settings › Space color. Inside that Space, room cards, the talk button and the talking ring use the Space color for everyone, in place of their own accent. Pick No Space color to go back to each person’s accent. Everyone in the Space sees the new color within a few seconds, without reopening KeyUp.
Don’t see Space color? Only the Space owner sees it, and only on a Crew or Business plan.
Turned off animations on your phone? The talking ring stops moving, and everything else still works.
