Availability: set when you hear and talk

Pick when each room is on for you: always, on your schedule, the room’s hours, or off. Plan time off ahead, and turn a room off or back on in one tap.

What it is

Availability decides when you hear a room and can talk in it. Each room can be Always on (the usual), follow My schedule (one weekly schedule you set once and share across rooms), use a Custom schedule for just that room, Follow room hours set by the Space’s owner or admin, or be Off until you turn it back on. While you’re off in a room, KeyUp doesn’t send you its audio and you can’t talk there. Everyone sees you greyed out with a line like Off until 7:00 AM.

When to use it

Use it for work rooms after your shift, a family room during a date night, or every room while you’re on vacation.

How to do it

  1. Open the room, tap the settings button at the top and tap Availability. Pick Always on, My schedule, Custom for this room, Follow room hours (only when the room has hours) or Off, then tap Save.

  2. To set times, tap the days you want, then From and To. Add more times for the same day with Add times, for example 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A time that ends before it starts runs past midnight, like 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Times use your phone’s time zone and follow the clock when it changes for daylight saving.

  3. My schedule is set once and shared by every room set to it. Change it in You › Availability or from any room’s Availability.

  4. When you’re off, the talk screen says Off until 7:00 AM and the talk button says Tap to resume. Tap it and pick Resume now (you stay on until your schedule turns you off next) or Resume for 1 hour.

  5. Need a break right now? In Availability tap Off for 1 hour, Off until tomorrow (your next scheduled start) or Off until I turn it back on. Your schedule picks up again after.

  6. Plan time off ahead: under Plan time off, pick a date, a start and an end, and tap Plan time off. Tap Several days? to pick a last day, and All rooms to cover every room, for a trip. Planned times show like Mon, Oct 5 · 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM · Off. Delete one any time; past ones go away by themselves.

  7. Planned time off beats your schedule and Always on. If you tap Resume now during it, that room’s time off ends early.

  8. When your schedule turns a room back on, the watch gives one gentle buzz and the phone shows a quiet On again note with no sound. This works even when KeyUp is closed.

  9. On the watch: while you’re off, the talk screen shows Off until 7 and Tap to resume instead of the talk button. The crown and raise to talk do nothing while you’re off. Tap it for Resume now and Resume 1 hour, or swipe up to Availability for Off for 1 hour, Off until tomorrow and Off until I’m back. The Tile and watch face complication say Off until 7 too.
