Go quiet: the Quiet menu

Tap the moon for every way to go quiet in one list: mute this room, sound off on this phone, Do not disturb, or a break from the room.

What it is

The moon is the one front door for quiet. It opens Quiet, a short list of every way KeyUp can go quiet, each with its state right now. Each row opens the control you already know, so nothing works differently.

When to use it

Use it whenever you need less sound and aren’t sure which switch does what.

How to do it

  1. Tap the moon at the top of the Talk tab, or at the top of a room next to the bell.

    Every way to go quiet.
  2. Mute #room: for you, on all your devices. Pick Notifications, Sound or Both, then how long. See Mute a person, chat or room.

  3. Sound off on this phone: a switch. Nothing of any room plays on this phone; your watch and other devices keep playing. It’s the same as the speaker button next to the talk button.

  4. Do not disturb: KeyUp silent everywhere, for 1 hour, until tomorrow morning or until you turn it off. See Do not disturb.

  5. Take a break from #room: off in this room for 1 hour, until tomorrow or until you turn it back on. While you’re off it says so, with Resume. See Availability.

  6. On the watch, swipe up: Quiet is at the top with the same rows: Mute #room, Sound on this watch (Auto, On, Off), Do not disturb and Take a break from #room.

    Quiet on the watch.
  7. In the web app, click the moon for Mute #room, Do not disturb and Take a break from #room. A browser has no Sound off switch; use Disconnect to stop the room’s audio there.
