Sound check
A quiet room just for you. Pick where you listen and which mic you talk into, then hear yourself back.
Sound check is a private room for just you, in three steps: where you hear, which mic, then try it. Nothing is sent to anyone and nothing is saved. KeyUp offers it in the first-time setup and after every sign-in, and you can always skip it.
Phone
- Open You › Sound › Sound check. In the first-time setup, tap Start sound check, or Skip for now.
- Under 1. Where you hear, pick where the sound plays. Under 2. Which mic, pick the mic you talk into. These are the same choices as in You › Sound, and they change your real settings.
- Under 3. Try it, hold the button (or tap it, if you use Tap to talk) and say hello. About a second after you let go, you hear yourself through the output you picked.
- Watch Mic level move while you talk. Tap Play again to hear it once more.
- For Hold or Tap, Open mic and Raise to talk, tap More talk settings.
- Tap Done.
Watch
- Open Settings › Sound › Sound check. In the first-time setup, tap Start sound check, or Skip for now.
- Tap 1. Where you hear to pick the watch speaker or Bluetooth headphones. If you have a phone on your account, you can turn on Talk on watch, listen on phone.
- Tap 2. Which mic, then 3. Try it. Hold the button (or tap it, if you use Tap to talk) and say hello. You hear yourself about a second later. Play again repeats it.
- Optional: tap Calibrate my voice, hold the watch near your mouth and say a sentence. The watch saves how loud your voice is, so Raise to talk can tell you from someone next to you.
- More talk settings opens How you talk. Tap Done. The watch needs no phone for any of this.
